American Shorthair, the changing-hair cat who carried on dream

I saw the program called “American Shorthair, the changing-hair cat who carried on dream” on NHK BS. The masters of ceremony were, Gekidan Hitori, a popular comedian also known as a talented writer.
His first novel, “Kagehinata ni Saku (Bloomed in the shade)” was told, it could be chosen as a candidate of Naoki Literature Prize, (actually, it was not chosen as even a candidate, but I believe it deserved to be, because it is excellent work).
Shinichi Fukuoka, the guest commentator, he is known as Biologist.
This program talks about the history of American Shorthair in the States. It relates to their Frontier spirit.
I only watched the last 15 minutes of this program; I missed most part of it.Some breeder of American Shorthair says “Shaded”, the non-popular kind of color cat among Shorthair, it becomes danger spices.

If you breed shaded and shaded, their kitten would be died or very small kitten.
Or if you do by-star breeding, it could be much dangerous.
So, they picked up Ticked-Tabby, also non-popular kind of color, their kitten could not be Shaded, but next generation, one forth percentage of kitten could be Shaded.
Interesting, but sounds the egoism of breeder.
